Another One Bites the Dust

Last week, we shared that L.A. City Councilmember Joe Buscaino dropped out of the race for L.A. City Mayor and threw his support behind Mayoral hopeful Rick Caruso.  This week another candidate bit the dust.  L.A. City Attorney Mike Feuer, who was one of the first candidates to throw their hat in the game, and whose recent television spot tagged him as the “underdog” in the highly contested race, decided to call it quits and endorsed Congresswoman Karen Bass for mayor.

While somewhat significant that the field is clearing, the top three candidates fighting for the royal mayoral throne remain the same.  And all the candidates’ names remain on the ballot.  Sure, it was kind of Buscaino and Feuer to throw their support behind other candidates, but it may not bring much of a boost to their once rivals, as both didn’t fare well in an L.A. Times poll that showed Buscaino at 1% and Feuer at 2%.
