Whoever Said “Money Can’t Buy You Happiness” Isn’t Working On Campaign Caruso

For those of you outside the Los Angeles area, we do apologize for the ongoing coverage of the Los Angeles Mayor’s race.  But like a wreck on the 405 freeway, it’s hard to look away.  With all the rumblings at the office water cooler of those involved in this horse race, whoever said money can’t buy you happiness is obviously not working on Rick Caruso’s campaign.  As reported last week, the billionaire developer has sunk $10 million of his own pocket change into his race in the last two months alone – raising his visibility and apparent likeability. This past week the LA Times released a poll which states that Caruso is now the leading horse in the race with 24% of likely voters and Karen Bass with 23%.  The other candidates are trailing with Kevin de Leon holding 6%, Mike Feuer at 2%, and Joe Buscaino with 1%.  Candidate Gina Viola, who is not considered a frontrunner, came in with an impressive 2% as well.  It’s important to note that of the poll, 40% of respondents are undecided.
