An Enthusiastic Chihuahua-Terrier on the Campaign Trail

Last week, Social Compassion in Legislation,  L.A. Democrats for the Protection of Animals (DPA), Michelson Found Animals, Michelson Center for Public Policy, and the Greater L.A. Animal Spay & Neuter Collaborative hosted the first ever Los Angeles Mayoral Candidates Forum on Animal Protection.  Their goal was to “…elevate animal protection issues at the local, county, state, and even federal level, said DPA President Dr. Jim Jensvold.

Only two candidates attended the forum: L.A. City Attorney Mike Feuer and L.A. City Councilmember Kevin de Leon.  Attendees learned that Feuer never had a pet while de Leon’s Chihuahua-Terrier “enthusiastically licked” the Councilmembers face and stole the show.  Big props to Kevin de Leon for sharing his four-legged campaign assistant with the rest of us!  The hosts have posted a link to the forum on YouTube.
