Details are sketchy…but one reason the stress level may be high among L.A. City Council staff is thanks to certain notifications being received in the Council offices. The notifications are from the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California. Apparently, some of the Council offices’ phones called a phone number that is/was authorized to be wiretapped by the Court. The wiretap was conducted at various times from June 2017 – November 2018. CalPeek has been unable to confirm to which investigation this is associated.
