Today, the CA Democratic Party will kick-off its three-day virtual convention. According to CalMatters, Party Chair Rusty Hicks is expected to have his hands full as the Progressive Caucus, led by Amar Shergill, is encouraging progressives to refrain from donating to or volunteering for the party and instead focus their organizing energy on outside groups. Shergill stated, “…there is no democracy in the Democratic Party.” We shall see if tempers run hot and sparks fly. More to follow next week…
